Bella MacDonald is a wannabe hairdresser to the stars. She has her head in the clouds and a fistful of notes, and after feeling abandoned by everyone that she loves, she decides that it’s now or never. Bella takes the plunge and jets off (well, chugs off) to a life in France, but mishaps ensue, as she is faced with a sexy farmer and his goat. Will she ever find true love and happiness? Will she return to England and Franco’s salon? And, will Mrs Humphries remember to take her glaucoma medication?
This book ticked all the boxes that I expect out of a chick lit book and more. I absolutely loved it!
When Love Feels Like A Pocket Full Of Snails! only took me a few hours to read. It is such an easy read.
The story starts off brilliantly as we get a glimpse of Bella’s working life as a junior stylist in a salon. There were quite a few bits that had me chuckling as the staff, client’s and scenarios, knowing people in the industry, was just so true to life.
The storyline is very much in keeping to other chick lit books, it is sweet, funny and uplifting. I love how after reading this book you get left with that nice warm glow that you only tend to get from this genre of book.
I loved the main character Bella and the author’s interpretation of Robbie, Bella’s cheating, lying boyfriend, had me laughing every time I visualized him.
This is first book I have read by this author and after reading this story I know I will certainly be reading more by her, infact I have just this minute bought Sex, Lies & Corned Beef Pies.
Many thanks to The Book Club and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have awarded this book 5/5 stars.
