Book Description:

A page-turning psychological thriller with the gripping plot of GIRL ON A TRAIN and the chilling suspense of BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP …

There are three things no-one can prepare you for when your daughter is murdered:

– You are haunted by her memory day and night

– Your friends and family fear you are going mad

– Only in a group with mothers of other victims can you find real comfort.

Welcome to the club no one wants to join.

‘A taut, psychologically gripping, gut-wrenching thriller from one of my favourite writers.’ – LISA JEWELL

My Thought’s:

First One Missing has a storyline which would be any parents worst nightmare. To have your child taken and then to turn up dead, it must be horrific. As horrible as the nature of the story is though you can not help but be compelled to read this book.

The author has the balance just perfect in the story with the families of the dead children and Leanne Miller the liaison officer who has to keep all the families informed with any updates.

You can’t help but be gripped to this story. I had every empathy for Leanne as her job is not an easy one and I could feel her sense of dread when she has to speak or visit some of the parents.

This is the second book I have read by this author, she certainly seems to be the queen of jaw dropping twists that take your breath away.

A must read for lovers of psychological thrillers!

Many thanks to Random House UK, Transworld Publishers and Netgalley for an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have awarded this book 4/5 stars.
