Two girls go missing. Only one will return.
The couple that offers the highest amount will see their daughter again. The losing couple will not. Make no mistake. One child will die.
When nine-year-old best friends Charlie and Amy disappear, two families are plunged into a living nightmare. A text message confirms the unthinkable; that the girls are the victims of a terrifying kidnapping.
And when a second text message pits the two families against each other for the life of their children, the clock starts ticking for D.I. Kim Stoneand the squad.
Seemingly outwitted at every turn, as they uncover a trail of bodies, Stone realises that these ruthless killers might be the most deadly she has ever faced. And that their chances of bringing the girls home alive, are getting smaller by the hour…
Untangling a dark web of secrets from the families’ past might hold the key to solving this case. But can Kim stay alive long enough to do so? Or will someone’s child pay the ultimate price?
The latest utterly addictive thriller from the No.1 bestseller Angela Marsons.
Lost Girls is the third novel in the D.I Kim Stone series. Even though I have read the previous two books I actually think Lost Girls quite easily reads as a stand alone, though would certainly recommend reading the first two also as they are fantastic books.
The storyline in Lost Girls, as a parent, really did make for an uncomfortable read in parts but boy was I well and truly gripped by it.
I don’t know if it was because of the nature of the case but Kim seemed a lot more feisty than normal. I really would not want to get on the wrong side of her. She certainly put more than a few people in their places, which a couple of people more than deserved it and I thoroughly enjoyed reading those parts.
The urgency of the case of the two missing girls really comes through in the story and Lost Girls really makes for a fast paced and gripping read which, by the end I was literally holding my breath, praying that Kim and her team would solve the case and find both girls safe and more importantly alive.
The parts with Charlie and Amy sent chills all over me. You could feel the pure fear and terror that both girls were experiencing. This is certainly not a read for the faint hearted but for true crime thriller fans this is definitely a must read.
The author certainly knows how to weave a tale that plays games with the readers minds never mind the characters. With twists and turns it is a novel that will certainly get your heart racing.
Yet another cracker of a book in which for me is very much a 5 star series.
Lost Girls is due to be published on the 6th of November and will be available to purchase from Amazon.
