Well I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of another year. Since starting my blog in March this year I have discovered so many new authors and some wonderful books. Trying to narrow my favourite down to 10 has been extremely hard. I have read so many wonderful books that have stood out for many reasons and I wish I could mention them all but it would be an extremely long post so I won’t. What I have decided to do is do a top 10 though as well as a top 5 for a series of books that I have enjoyed. So here goes:
So in no particular order these are my top 10 picks of 2015:
I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh
Has one of the best OMG moments ever written in a novel. I ended up having to go back a couple of pages just to make sure I had read it right.
The Sound of Crickets by Marissa Farrar
This book came a long when I was considering starting my blog and gave me the push that I needed. A really lovely novel that even though a work of fiction is very true when it comes to making some truly wonderful friends through blogging.
An Impossible Dilemma by Netta Newbound
This is one book that just blew me away with all the shocks and twists in it, absolutely loved it.
Out Of The Darkness by Katy Hogan
This is such a beautiful story and made me cry buckets at the end solely because I didn’t want it to end. This is one of those books that will stay with me for a long time to come.
White Is The Coldest Colour by John Nicholl
The main character, Dr David Galbraith has to be one of the most hated characters ever, well for me he is. In a storyline that I thought might be to uncomfortable to read the author did a great job in just telling us enough with out going into to much detail. Another brilliant book.
Love, Lies and Lemon Cake by Sue Watson
I am a huge fan of Sue’s novels but this one really got under my skin and made me re evaluate my life. A truly wonderful novel.
For Reasons Unkown by Michael Wood
It’s really hard to believe that this is the authors debut novel. From picking up the novel I had to finish it in the same day as I had to know who the murderer was and I wasn’t disappointed as Michael had me changing my mind through out.
Behind A Twisted Smile by Faith Mortimer
Faith is another favourite author of mine and I enjoy all her books but this novel had me literally on the edge of my seat all the way through. Brilliant storyline where I was literally screaming and shouting at my kindle at the injustice of the main character by her friends and family.
Gator Bait by Adam Howe
Best ending EVER in a novel, absolutely loved it!
Hellbound by David McCaffrey
Now I loved Normal along with everyone else but David takes the whole mind of a serial killer to another level in his novel. A brilliantly dark and intense read.
So there you have it, my top 10! Now there are some books I wanted to feature in my top 10 but I loved all books in the series that I just couldn’t narrow it down to just 1 so here is my top 5 books in a series.
The Estate series by Mel Sherratt
The Justice series by M A Comley
D I Damen Brook series by Steven Dunne
Detective Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons
Detective Jennifer Knight series by Caroline Mitchell
All 5 series’ are great and highly recommend them if you haven’t yet read them already. Nearly all of the books in each series were 5 star reads for me and as I couldn’t choose a favourite out of each one I had to give them a special mention.
Thanks Sarah, thrilled to be mentioned here, you’ve made my day x
