My Personal Highlights of 2015

The back end of March 2015 saw me post my very first blog post, since then what a year I have had in the booking world. 2015 will always be a special year for many reasons but I thought I would share with you some of my personal favourites.

Me with the lovely Milly Johnson at a book signing at Waterstones in Meadowhall, Sheffield.

The lovely and wonderful Mel Comley naming me and my daughter in the dedication section of her book Calculated Justice. Not only did we make it into the dedication section as a special surprise for my daughters 16th birthday she named a character after her. Very proud mum moment.

I can’t even begin to describe how I felt when the lovely Peter Bennett sent me a signed copy of his new book, When The Tide Goes Out, with part of my review on the back cover. To say I was overwhelmed is an under statement.

Thank you to the lovely Linda Hill who put me forward for the most informative blog award. Was totally gob smacked when I won as was up against some fantastic blogs. Unfortunately I couldn’t make the awards event but here’s me modelling my prize.

Another highlight of my year was going to Birmingham to an author and blogger meet up. I was lucky enough to meet lots of lovely bloggers and authors. Here I am with fellow blogger buddies, Noelle Holten and Shell Baker. Authors Col Bury, Christie Barlow and Heide Goody. Also the lovely lady that arranged it all the lovely Kim Nash who does a fantastic job for Bookouture.

So there you have it my personal highlights. I just want to take this time to personally thank the wonderful blogging community who have been truly wonderful and supportive, all the authors for asking me to read and review their pride and joy and of course to all the lovely people that stop by and visit my blog. I am truly grateful to you all. Looking forward to what 2016 has in store. xx

  1. It feels like you’ve been around the blogging scene much longer – and that’s a compliment! I so enjoy your reviews and posts. I’ve only been blogging about a year longer than you, but I must admit I find the reading part much easier than the reviewing part (my rubbish tech skills don’t help, as well as a job that has extremely variable hours!) 2016 will see me posting much more regularly – that’s my resolution – not just reading a book and starting another, with no notes to help me review the first one!

  2. What a wonderful post, and what a fabulous first year as a blogger you’ve had! Your blog, and your reviews and posts, are always so well put together that I assumed you must have been doing this for a long time, you’re doing so well. Wishing you a very happy bookish 2016!

  3. Looks like a fantastic year! I was lucky enough to meet Alison Baillie, Lin Anderson and Joanne from Portobello Book Blog this year. I had a quote mentioned on the inside cover of Cesca Major’s book the Silent Hours and got to preview Mark Wright’s upcoming book. Hope 2016 is as exciting as last year for you.
