Book three in the ‘Serenity’ series…
Living in Jackson’s cold embrace, Serenity no longer remembers who she is. Repeat feedings have left her a mere shell of a person and she has no recollections of her past life, though the sense that she isn’t alone often haunts her.
Back in Los Angeles, Sebastian has never given up hope of finding her again. Their daughter, Elizabeth, experiences visions of Serenity’s new existence and together they track her across the country.
But finding Serenity might prove to be the least of their problems. When Sebastian seeks the help of an older vampire, Demitrios, the family find themselves in the fight of their lives.
Captured is the third book in the Serenity series. Even though it is the third, I actually think the author gives the reader enough background so that if you haven’t had the pleasure of reading the other two books in the series, don’t worry as you will be easily able to keep up with the story and not feel like your missing out on anything.
Two years have passed since the ending of book two. Serenity is just a shadow of her former self and Sebastian is starting to almost believe he might never get her back. Luckily after Elizabeth has another vision they manage to locate Serenity and save her from the evil Jackson.
Serenity has totally lost her memory from her time spent with Jackson and even though she is back in a safe and loving environment she seems to be getting worse. You can tell the frustration that Sebastian is feeling, the fact he has his beloved Serenity back yet she still seems as distant as she did when she was missing. The love between both characters is very intense and they will obviously go to any lengths for each other. The only problem is for Serenity to have her memory returned, Sebastian basically strikes a deal with the devil, or as good as, and what should be a happy return home for Sebastian, Serenity and their daughter Elizabeth ends up being Sebastian’s and Serenity’s worst nightmare.
Captured is such a tense read and gripping read. Sebastian, Serenity and Elizabeth are great characters and their loving family unit is one that any reader will find a place in their heart for. Can’t wait to see what the author has in store for them in the next book.
Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.
