My Thoughts:

As soon as I heard about this book I desperately wanted to read it. The cover, description everything about it just screamed out to me.

The Girl In The Ice is the authors first crime novel and having now read his book, I have to say I will be first in the queue for his next one.

Detective Erika Foster is a bit of a lost soul. She hasn’t been back at work long after the loss of her beloved husband. She has rented out their house as she can’t face the memories so is pretty much homeless. Even though Erika is pretty much a loner, you can tell she is a strong character. She has certainly been through the mill in her personal life and now that she is back at work, her new case takes her down a very dark and harrowing road seeing her have run ins with her boss as well as with suspects.

I had to have a giggle over Erika’s partner, Moss. Kate Moss that is, like the model. Even though over all this is a dark read, there are parts that were quite moving and heart warming.

The Girl In The Ice is a brilliantly clever crime thriller. The author made sure he had my attention right from the very start. It is a steady read which towards the end had me hurtling at full speed, until WHAM!!!! with an ending that just totally blew me away!

An absolute must read for all you crime fanatics out there.
