All Through The Night (Detective J.T. Ellington #2) by M.P Wright ***Blog Tour***

Today I am delighted to be the next stop on the blog tour for All Through The Night. This is the second novel in the Detective J.T Ellington series. Heartman is the first novel in the series and you can read my thoughts by clicking here.26809481.jpg

Book Description:

Heartman’s J T Ellington returns…

“It’s quite simple Mr Ellington. When you find Fowler, just ask where we can find the truth.”

With these words, private detective JT Ellington embarks on a seemingly simple case of tracking down a local GP with a dubious reputation and retrieving a set of stolen documents from him.

For Ellington, however, things are rarely straightforward. Dr Fowler is hiding a terrible secret and when he is gunned down outside a Bristol pub, his dying words send JT in pursuit of a truth more disturbing and deadly than he could possibly have imagined.

M.P. Wright’s debut novel Heartman was longlisted for the Crime Writers Association Ian Fleming Steel Dagger.

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed Heartman which is the first book in the series, so very much looked forward to reading All Through The Night. I would recommend reading the books in order to get full enjoyment of the series.

JT Ellington is quite a deep character. He has had a lot of heart ache in his life. He has had to leave his country of birth for his own safety as well as sanity and is trying to make a living  as a private investigator in Bristol, England.

When JT takes on a new case, I don’t think he could have ever envisioned how much it would affect him. Through his investigations he ends up with a young girl called Truth in his care. You wouldn’t think looking out for a little girl would cause a whole heap of trouble, but it certainly does.

The relationship between JT and Truth is one I don’t think I could ever forget. It was so endearing and totally twanged my heartstrings. Truth is a young girl with no real family, she puts all her trust in JT and I think at times JT finds this hard to deal with. For both their own safety, they end up on the run and the reader is taken on a dark and dangerous journey with them.

All Through The Night is a crime thriller that gently draws you in then grabs you by the throat so that by the end my emotions were all over the place. Excellent read and can’t wait for the next one.

Many thanks to the author and Black and White Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.

All Through The Night is out now on kindle and available in paperback on the 14th of April from Amazon.

  1. Both of them are 98p on Kindle atm – I read the first 20 pages of this one and went to see how much the first one was, as I was going to buy it if wasn’t too expensive. Brilliant price! Sarah I’ll come back and read your review as I’m hosting on Wednesday and don’t want to steal your thoughts, even subconsciously! I’m loving it so far though.
