Every bride wants a perfect wedding and that includes Georgina Winters. Amy Perfect is the crème de la crème of wedding planners so who best to plan Georgina s wedding… except the man Georgina plans to marry is the same man who jilted Amy three years ago. Will her plan to give Georgina the most imperfect wedding backfire on her? Is this the chance for Amy to win back the love of her life, or will insufferable Ben Garret put a spanner in the works? Arab princes, spoilt brides and wedding catastrophes make Perfect Weddings a page-turning romantic comedy that will keep you guessing until the very last page.
I’ve read a few books by this author now and she manages to bring the perfect amount of romance and humour into her stories and Perfect weddings is no exception.
The story starts off with an overweight Amy who gets dumped on her wedding day. I don’t think I could think of anything worse to go wrong on your wedding day than for the groom or bride for that matter not to turn up. Poor Amy understandably is heart broken and goes into melt down.
Fast forward a few years though and she has completely turned her life around. With her best friend Rosie, she has worked hard on losing weight and keeping trim and has also set up a much sought after service as a wedding planner. She pretty much has it all, apart from a man that is.
When Georgina turns up in Amy’s life though it throws Amy’s world into turmoil and the confident business woman that she has turned into soon goes out of the window.
Amy has plenty of meltdowns through out the story which, though awful for her, are funny for us readers. She seems to get herself into so many awkward moments that it made me cringe yet laugh as I was so glad it wasn’t happening to me.
I absolutely loved the best man’s speech in the novel as it has to be one of the most perfect speeches I have ever heard. It has just the right amount of humour and seriousness to it and could certainly give a lot of best men out there some great ideas in how to write the perfect speech.
This is very much a story of love and friendship and realising when to let go.
Perfect Weddings is such an enjoyable read and ideal for when you want a bit of romance with lots of fun thrown in. The author creates such memorable characters that will certainly appeal to the readers. Loved it!
