The second book in the Little Perran romance series.
‘As a heatwave rolls into Little Perran, so does love. Billy Baxter, the has-been rock star, and Rafe Wylde, the hunky farm worker arrive, both destined to cause havoc as they touch the lives of the villagers. Milly finds a new job and things start to look up for her, but she is unaware that a ghost from her past is looking for her. ‘
Funny, Compassionate and Sizzling Sexy, a Village Romance is a page-turning summer read. A Village Romance is the second book in The Little Perran Romance series by Lynda Renham writing as Amy Perfect.
This book is in two parts. Part two is available as an e book and is titled ‘A Summer Romance’
The first in this series is ‘A Christmas Romance’ and can be read as a stand alone novella.
|A Village Romance is the second novel in The Little Perren Romance series. If you haven’t read A Christmas Romance which is the first, fear not, as even though there are some of the characters from the previous book, they are mainly in the back ground and this can easily be read as a stand alone. Saying that though this story is actually told over two novels but luckily we don’t have long to wait as A Summer Romance which is the third in the series is out in a weeks time.
I have to say I absolutely adore the character Billy Baxter in this book. He reminds me very much of the character that Bill Nighy plays in the film Love Actually. Through his character he brings a lot of humour to the story, though not to the residents of the village. He is used to leading the life of a famous rock star and living the high life, so coming to the small village takes a lot of adjustment and his arrival into the village is certainly a memorable one!
We also have Ash who has recently moved into the village, he is slightly more complex and has a lot to deal with after an horrific accident leaves him a shadow of the man he once was. Milly a resident of the village uses the opportunity of Ash coming into the village to get out of a mundane job in a shop by going to work for Ash which pays more and also gives her more time to spend doing a much loved hobby. It’s also quite obvious that the pair fancy the pants off each other.
A Village Romance is a wonderful novella that has a lovely mixture of romance and humour that makes for a highly enjoyable reading experience.
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.
A Village Romance is out tomorrow and available to purchase from Amazon.
