Funny, Compassionate and Sizzling Sexy, A Summer Romance is a page-turning summer read.
A Summer Romance is the third sequel to A Village Romance, the third book in the Little Perran series by Lynda Renham writing as Amy Perfect.
I have read all three books in the Little Perran series and they really are wonderful. You don’t have to have read A Christmas Romance which is the first in the series BUT, I highly recommend you reading the second in the series, A Village Romance before reading this one. This is due to the story being split between both novels so if you haven’t read the other one first please do so to get full enjoyment out of these fabulous books.
The story starts to get a slightly more serious feel to it in this book. Even though there is some light relief still from the fabulous rock star come country pumpkin, Billy Baxter, there are a couple of other relationships that seem to be in a bit of jeopardy of getting their happy ever after.
We get to find out more about the characters as well as getting to know them better, which I very much enjoyed.
The little village sounds very idyllic and I was quite jealous of the residents who were all getting ready for the summer fete. From the beer tent to the judging competitions for peoples vegetables, jams and cakes, in a glorious location on a lovely day, well I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a day.
A Summer Romance is brimming full of love, lust, relationships as well as some jealousy. It’s one of those stories that leaves you with a big soppy grin on your face and gives you a warm glow. I hope there are going to be more novels set in the lovely little village as I can’t wait to be transported there as well as to catch up with everyone in the future.
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.
