Mortal Justice by M A Comley

Book Description:

A 12,000 word Justice short novella to be read between CRUEL JUSTICE and IMPEDING JUSTICE from NY Times and USA Today bestselling author M A Comley.

What would you do if you saw a stranger’s life in danger?

DI Lorne Simpkins and her partner, DS Pete Childs investigate a violent attack. Lorne becomes increasingly concerned when her star witness, Donna Moran, goes missing. She knew Donna was petrified, but has Donna just gone into hiding, or has she been taken by the offenders?

My Thoughts:

Mortal Justice is a short novella which took me less than an hour to read. Even though it may only be a quick read it is still packed full of action and had me gripped from beginning to end.

The novella is the perfect read for new and old Justice fans a like. It reads perfectly as a stand alone for anyone who hasn’t read it and for fans like me, who have read them all, you will be very happy to hear that as it is set a while back, that the lovable character Pete is back.

It was great to see Lorne and Pete back in action as a team. There is just an ease between them both and they work really well together.

With a short story I always worry that it may seem rushed or the true sense of the crime won’t come across as strongly but I had nothing to worry about. The author had me on the edge of my seat and I was truly horrified by the brutality of the crime as well as the criminals.

My only problem ended up being as with any book you are really enjoying, I didn’t want it to end, especially as Pete was back. But then really that is a sign of a good book when you don’t want it to end.

My thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.

Mortal Justice is out tomorrow and available to purchase from Amazon.
