Book Description:

One simple mouth swab is all it takes.
One tiny DNA test to find your perfect partner – the one you’re genetically made for.
A decade after scientists discover everyone has a gene they share with just one person, millions have taken the test, desperate to find true love.
Now, five more people take the test. But even soul mates have secrets.
And some are more shocking, heartbreaking and deadlier than others.

My Thoughts:

This is the authors third novel and having read them all I can honestly say, I have no idea how he does it but they just keep getting better and better.

This is just one of those novels that I just want to gush about as I love it so much, so apologies if I waffle on to much about how great it is, but really it honestly is.

I absolutely loved the whole concept of this novel. A DNA test to find the perfect partner, who wouldn’t want to give it a go? To be able to cut out all those failed relationships and be able to go straight to your soul mate and live a life of harmony. Sounds perfect doesn’t it? Maybe just a little to perfect.

The story flicks between a handful of main characters who have taken the test and what happens in their lives after they have met their perfect match. Having read the authors other books and how twisted they are, I knew that things were going to be far from plain sailing. I wasn’t wrong either. Some things I had actually worked out in the story where as the rest just totally messed with my head and I loved every minute of it.

I loved all the different characters and how each of their stories were so different and it had me totally enthralled. It had me going through so many emotions and there is one particular character who I’m not sure whether the readers are supposed to like him or not, but I totally loved him in particular as he is just so twisted, yet I couldn’t help really liking him.

A Thousand Small Explosions is another reading highlight of 2016 for me. I was gripped to the story line and the characters from the start to the very end. My heart was literally pounding from the thrills that the author was dosing me with. I really couldn’t get enough and I so didn’t want it to end as I was enjoying it so much. Highly recommended.

My thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.

A Thousand Small Explosions is out today and available to purchase from Amazon.
