The Queen of blogging is a fast paced, entertaining story about making ends meet when you have toddlers, a husband that works too much and showing off your life on a blog for the outside world to see.
Kajsa runs Sweden’s largest Health and Fitness blog. There’s only one small problem; it’s all a big lie. Between her blog entries on healthy nutritious porridge and flashy running shoes, she lies on the sofa watching TV and eating sweets. Her only exercise is using the remote control.
Her life seems perfect: A beautiful house in an attractive suburb of Stockholm, three children, a loving husband and loads of money.
However, things start to crumble when she accidently writes on her blog that she is best friends with a famous Hollywood personal trainer. The problem is he’s never met, let alone heard of her.
An ambitious journalist, who doesn’t believe Kajsa has been honest about her blog or her friendship with the personal trainer, sets out to destroy her.
Besides having to handle the annoying journalist, she must also deal with Peter, “the blog following hunk”, and a bizarre and outrageous priest who keeps spreading Kajsa’s secrets all over town!
Bestselling Swedish author Therese Loreskar writes with a never-ending sense of humour and energy.
Meet Sweden’s answer to Bridget Jones!
We meet and get to know Kajsa through entries into a diary. Some entries are shorter than others and as the book is only 145 pages anyway, readers will easily devour this novel in a matter of hours.
Kajsa is a wife, mother and a blogger. Her and her husband alternate dropping the kids off and taking the dog out, then her husband goes off to work leaving Kajsa to sort out posts for her health and fitness blog. Her life is fairly normal and to others probably near perfect. Through her diary though we get to see a different version of her life and we also get to see that Kajsa’s blog is one big lie.
I think the author makes light of how some people pretend to be something they are not, and with the help of the internet, how easy it can be to become a totally different persona.
Kajsa I think means well but she has got very lazy and instead of actually going out and doing any exercise and cooking healthily, she scrolls through images on the internet and posts them on her blog. Getting carried away with it all, when she admits to knowing a famous personal trainer, the hole she has been digging herself, gets even bigger.
Queen of Blogging is a riotous read of one woman’s journey in trying to get out of one potentially big mess that threatens to ruin her blog as well as coping with day to day issues that arise from married life. Between Kajsa and her friend Rebecca, they get in some seriously hilarious predicaments that will have you laughing out loud. This is one of those books that would make a great film as I think it would be even more hilarious on the screen. Whats even better, is that this is just the first book in a series and I certainly can’t wait to see what Kajsa gets up to next.
One of the funniest books I have read this year!
My thanks to Bombshell Books for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
