In an already uncertain world, where people fight for the protection of the planet and its future generations, comes a sadistic extraterrestrial force intent on the annihilation of the human race. Get ready as the world is about to burn; this isn’t Judgement Day – this is far worse.
Blurred Vision is a story that felt like a mixture of sci-fi/thriller and horror all rolled into one.
The story starts off with a group of men finding themselves in the same room on an alien spaceship. All the men are from different backgrounds and all react quite differently to their situation.
Slowly the men’s numbers start to dwindle down as aliens come and take one man at a time. The story then starts to alternate so that we get to know a bit more of each man’s background. I think this way the reader gets to know the individuals better and have more empathy for them and for what they are going through.
The parts where the men are taken by the aliens definitely felt more like a horror. The fear that the men feel whilst waiting to be taken was agonising. It certainly is not a situation I would ever want to find myself in and I was scared to read on to see what fate had in store for them.
This is one of those stories that would make a great film as well as being a great read. Even though not a genre I read much of, I definitely enjoyed the whole story line and it left me feeling slightly chilled by the end. I certainly look forward to reading more by the author in the future.
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Goodreads rating 4/5 stars.
