All roads lead to the truth…
When Megan Cooper is rescued from a terrible car accident, she can’t believe how lucky she has been. Now, she is desperate track down the stranger who saved her life.
DCI Tony Morgan thought he had seen the back of his old career, but when he receives a call from his ex-boss to tell him there has been a hit and run in the area, leaving a young woman trapped in a burning car and left for dead, he knows that he must return to help investigate.
Meanwhile, Megan sets out to track down the man who pulled her from the car that night, all the while developing a strange infatuation towards him. Finally, they come face to face.
As secrets are revealed and the truth starts to emerge, it is soon discovered that Megan is still in danger and that the hero who saved her life may not be everything she wants him to be.
A twisty psychological drama combining crime, mystery and romance.
The story starts off with the main character, Megan, involved in a horrible car accident. I say accident but it soon becomes apparent that it may not be as straight forward as what Megan thinks it is.
Even though the police are investigating the accident, Megan decides to do some detective work of her own so that she can personally thank the man who saved her. The police as well as her own investigating soon starts to uncover something more sinister.
As crime is my favourite genre I have to admit that some of the surprises in the story I had already worked out. That didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this book though as the author as usual has written a story that readers will easily fall into and enjoy.
There is great characterisation and I really enjoyed the growing relationship between Megan, Will and Elliott. The relationship between these three is one that I was actually sad to leave behind when I finished the book.
The Wrong Turn is a highly enjoyable read and ideal for readers who love a good crime/suspense novel with the added bonus of a story line of romance running through it. It’s the perfect read to snuggle up on the sofa with and lose yourself to the outside world.
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Goodreads rating 4/5 stars.
The Wrong Turn is out on the 18th of February and available to pre order from Amazon.
