Book Description:

What if the person you love most in the world was in terrible danger … because of you?

Three years ago, Toni’s five-year-old daughter Evie disappeared after leaving school. The police have never been able to find her. There were no witnesses, no CCTV, no trace.

But Toni believes her daughter is alive. And as she begins to silently piece together her memories, the full story of the past begins to reveal itself, and a devastating truth.

Toni’s mind is trapped in a world of silence, her only chance to save herself is to manage the impossible. She must find a way to make herself heard. She must find her daughter.

A compelling, gripping thriller with a breathtaking twist that will keep you awake until the early hours. Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, Behind Closed Doors and The Sister.

My Thoughts:

Having read and enjoyed Safe With Me by the same author I was very much looking forward to reading more. As much as I enjoyed Safe With Me, for me, Blink is even better.

My heart really went to Toni. She has lost her husband and is struggling to function. She moves with her daughter Evie, to be closer to her mum and for a fresh start. The fresh start sadly doesn’t start off quite how Toni hoped with a home in a not so very nice neighbourhood and Evie hating her new school. When Toni starts a new job she hopes that this is the start of good things to come, sadly things get drastically worse for her.

To a certain extent Toni doesn’t really help herself but then losing your husband and your whole world coming down on you, how do you know how any of us would cope? She has left herself quite open and vulnerable as she can’t quite get her head together and is struggling to cope. She is torn between her mother and the teaching assistant at Evie’s school and she doesn’t know whether she is coming or going.

Even though there was one part of the story that I had worked out fairly early, there are plenty of other surprises in store that left me reeling. This is without a doubt a thrilling roller coaster of a read that will have you gripping on for dear life to see how it will all end.

Totally loved it.

My thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.

Blink is out now available to purchase from Amazon.
