Book Description:

The second in The Ben Whittle Investigation series of psychological thrillers with occasional flashes of dark humour. Best enjoyed after reading The Revelation Room.

Fresh from the horrors of the Revelation Room, private investigators Ben and Maddie are plunged into a disturbing world of terror as they search for missing pregnant girl, Hannah Heath. Drawn to Frank Crowley, an original suspect in Hannah’s disappearance, Maddie is about to learn the true meaning of evil. As she gets close to Crowley, in an effort to get him to open up, she soon learns all is not what it seems. Crowley is just a small part of something unimaginable. Something so terrible and deranged, it defies reason. After Maddie disappears, Ben is left in a desperate race against time to find her and uncover the truth.

My Thoughts:

With The Eyes Of The Accused being the second novel in the Ben Whittle Investigation series I would recommend reading The Revelation Room prior to this one.

I developed a bit of a soft spot for Ben and Maddie in The Revelation Room so was delighted to be reunited with them again. Was lovely to see the relationship between the pair grow and I can’t wait for things to develop further and follow them on their journey.

Ben and Maddie are now doing the leg work for Ben’s dad’s P.I business much to Geoff’s dismay. Geoff is frustrated with how he has been left physically after events from the first novel and I think he envies Ben and Maddies youth. Even though Ben is really the one that’s supposed to be in charge of the investigation it seems to be left to Maddie to really get stuck in and hurry the case along that they are working on.

The story line to do with the missing pregnant woman was one that really held my interest. Especially as I had no clue as to who was behind it all and the reason why. It sure made for an entertaining and intriguing read.

The Ben Whittle Investigation series is without a doubt great for readers who love a book full of mystery and suspense. With much loved characters like Jessica Fletcher and Columbo, I reckon Ben and Maddie could easily earn their places in readers hearts. A great series and can not wait to read more.

Goodreads rating 4/5 stars.

The Eyes Of The Accused is available to purchase from Amazon.
