INNOCENT 6 FINAL

Book Description:

Loki Redmond swore she’d never return to the reservation, but two missing hunters and the ancient Choctaw myth of Nalusa Falaya take her and her brother, Dadron, on a dangerous trek through the wilderness.

Meanwhile, her partner Jake Savior, heads to Tunica, Mississippi, to investigate the second mass killing by a Choctaw police officer.

Are the cases connected?

The only thing they know for sure is innocent blood has been shed, and unless they can find the source more are going to die.

My Thoughts:

Innocent Blood is the second book in the series. Having loved The Forgotten which is the first book in the series, personally I would recommend reading them in order but the author does give plenty of back ground if you do wish to delve straight into this one.

Like I mentioned, I really loved The Forgotten so was great to catch back up with Loki and Jake again to see what was in store for the characters as well as us readers.

How this particular story line starts off, I loved. I’m not going to say what happens as the less you know the better but it drew me in straight away as I was desperate to know the why’s of what had just happened.

What I love about this crime series is that it is very different to any that I have ever read. Crime is with out a doubt the main theme but the author gives us so much more. Loki being a Choctaw Indian brings to life a history and beliefs of which is very new to me. Family and loyalty are a huge part of their world and will always come first. Throw in the fact that Loki also has paranormal abilities it really makes these books stand out from the crowd in it’s genre. The author ties it all in wonderfully so that it isn’t some far fetched read but every bit an engrossing and believable read.

Innocent Blood is perfect for crime lovers who like something a bit different. With a great cast of characters this makes for one gripping and thrilling read. Plenty of action and a race against time makes certain that this is a page turner of a read you won’t want to put down.

My thanks to Bloodhound Books for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.

Innocent Blood is available to purchase from Amazon.

Author Bio:

Linda S. Prather is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling author of 8 novels including two legal thrillers, a paranormal FBI series, one romance, and her current series involving Loki Redmond, a Choctaw private investigator and Jake Savior, a former police officer. Linda lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband and grandchild, along with the “king” of the house, a Shitzu name Popcorn. Her latest release, Innocent Blood is her second in the Loki Redmond/Jake Savior series. In Linda’s own words: “This book is my favorite so far. My grandfather was a full-blooded Native American, and my mother half Native American. Prior to my marriage and children I studied Shamanism and developed a true love for nature. Studying the Choctaw history, customs, myths and religions was fascinating. Taking the facts I learned and weaving them into Loki’s story and her investigation into the disappearance of two hunters on the reservation was an emotional roller coaster for me. I found myself crying quite often.”
