One Killer. Several gruesome murders. Two hundred miles apart.
This case is going to take two exceptional detectives to solve it. DI Lorne Warner and her husband, Tony, travel north to team up with DI Hero Nelson, on the trail of a killer randomly killing his victims in public places.
It soon becomes apparent the killer is toying with the detectives. To stay ahead of the investigation team, he changes his MO and ups his game… with a devastating outcome.
Even though this is the fifteenth book in the Justice series it works really well as a stand alone as the author gives enough background for readers that may not have read any of the others. Though if not why not? Great series and one you will beat yourself up over not having read them sooner.
I am a big fan of this series. I love how the author has brought together another great detective from her Hero series and teamed him up with the formidable Lorne. It was like getting a double helping of dessert having two much loved main characters in the same book.
The story has a brilliant prologue that grabbed me straight away and had me hooked just as I have always come to expect from this author. She never lets me down.
The killer in this is a particularly nasty one and needed taking off the streets as soon as possible. I had no doubt that with Hero and Lorne on the case that it wouldn’t be long before they find them. I have to say though that they really have their work cut out and have to go above and beyond in trying to work out just exactly the killer was. It certainly wasn’t a disappointment when all is revealed either.
Heroic Justice is yet another thrilling addition to the already brilliant Justice series. Dark, chilling and hooked from start to finish, it is exactly how I like my crime reads served. Bravo!
My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Goodreads rating 5/5 stars.
