Murderous Betrayal is the fourth book in the DI Kayli Bright series and best read in order to get the most out of the books. They are all fabulous so you are missing out if you haven’t already read them.
Kayli is a great character and I love her work ethics. Her colleagues have a lot of respect for her and they all work well as a team. I think the case that they are working on in this book in particular showcases the strength of their team work.
As always, I love that we get to see a good balance of the main characters home lives. Too many crime writers spend more time on the cases, which is great, but it doesn’t always personalise the protagonist’s which can then take time for the reader to actually warm to them. With this series we get a good blend of home and work and I love both aspects. It makes me so more invested in the characters which makes for a more personal and emotional read as what’s happening to the characters affects you also.
Murderous Betrayal is another page turner of a read in a thrilling series. From picking it up, I struggled to put this book down to get on with everyday life as I was well and truly hooked. An absolute roller coaster of a read!
My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
