Book Description:
As Daniel watches the life ebb from Grace’s body, he wishes they had more time, knew each other when they were young. His wife surprises him by insisting that they did. And then she’s gone.
Daniel knows this can’t be true. Can it? They only met later in life, so why would Grace’s departing words hint at a shared youth? Haunted by this notion, Daniel journeys into the past to discover the truth.
‘Remember’ is a unique love story. Find out how it really began…
My Thoughts:
Having finished Remember by Shervin Jamali, I really am at a loss for words. As the blurb states, yes it is a unique love story but it is also so much more.
Whilst only a novella, this book packs some punches and makes for an emotional read.
We all know we aren’t going to live forever and the thought of losing our nearest and dearest is literally unbearable. How do people cope? How do they get on with their lives? I think Daniels time after Grace’s death goes someway of showing the loss and despair that someone goes through. I didn’t even want to imagine how I would feel if it was me going through the same experience.
It’s hard to say to much about the story itself as it’s one that has to be experienced and devoured by the reader themselves. I think each person will take something different away from this book. For me, it is to make the most of what time we have with our loved ones and never take them for granted.
Remember is very much a story of love. A love so strong that it will last an eternity. It felt very personal reading of Daniel’s experience and his journey searching for answers. I am so grateful that I got to take it with him. An emotional and heartfelt read that touched my heart and soul. Oh, and made me cry.
My thanks to the author and Caroline Vincent for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Shervin Jamali has been writing for as long as he can remember as he had so many stories “locked away” but it wasn’t until he completed the first draft of ‘The Devil’s Lieutenant’ (2016) that he decided to turn his writings into books. His books are the perfect outlet for his daytime job as an IT consultant and he looks forward to the day he will be a full-time writer.
After having lived in sunny Florida, Shervin Jamali now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. In his spare time, Shervin likes to put together jigsaw puzzles whilst contemplating plots for his next book.
