The Hostage Takers by M.A. Comley @Melcom1

Book Description:

They enter wearing vests…

Packed full of explosives.

Screams and shouts fill the venue until they are silenced by gunfire.

A rescue attempt ensues from an unexpected source inside the nightclub.

DI Kayli Bright looks on in horror as the terrorist’s plan unfolds.

Will Kayli be able to work with the inspector in charge of the rescue? Or will she be tempted to go it alone?

My Thoughts:

For DI Kayli Bright fans, The Hostage Takers is an absolute must read.

Now I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for Mark, oh alright, a big soft spot for Mark. We get to see a bit more of him when the nightclub he works in is taken under seize. For Mark he is used to being under pressure but for Kayli who is on the other side of things, it is a totally different matter.

You can feel Kayli’s frustrations as hostage situations does not come under her jurisdiction. Not being in control is something she is not happy with but she is determined to work together to get everyone out in one piece.

This really is an edge of your seat read that had my heart in my mouth many a time. For a novella, it really packs some punches and had me well and truly hooked. I raced through the pages to see if Mark and the rest of the hostages manage to make it out alive. Obviously to see if they do you will have to read it for yourself.

The Hostage Takers is an enthralling and adrenaline fuelled read that doesn’t disappoint. A nail biter of a read from the queen of crime thrillers.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
