Book Description:
A GRIPPING THRILLER WITH A HEART-STOPPING ENDING
Dr Hannah Nightingale must stop a ruthless killer who wants revenge for a terrible past
Three murders with a sinister connection lead Detective David Mallory and criminal profiler Hannah Nightingale on a very dark trail. The killer, nicknamed Anger Man, is full of rage and guilt which will only be quenched by more murder. And what’s the link to a decade-old child abuse scandal involving the sinister group known as ‘the Ring’?
A patient in a mental hospital, Mary Longsdale, knows who the Anger Man really is, but will she betray the only person she has ever cared for? Dr Hannah Nightingale must win her trust, while facing an evil insider within the police department who is trying to sabotage her work. Now Anger Man is coming after the police themselves and can anyone stop his final killing spree?
This is a fast-paced thriller that will have you turning the pages till the action-packed ending.
My Thoughts:
This is the second book in the series featuring Detective David Mallory and Dr Hannah Nightingale. Apart from a couple of mentions of the previous case, it does read well as a stand alone.
I liked how the story starts off and it had me hooked throughout. It’s very relevant sadly in today’s world with child sex rings. The author doesn’t go into any detail though where that subject is involved but you can still feel the horrors coming through from the victims of the abuse.
This is one of those stories where I felt sorry for the killer. It’s one which makes you question what they are doing and whilst not agreeing with their actions, you can understand some of them. Even so, it causes a major headache for the police
Anger Man is a crime thriller that will keep you turning those pages. The pace starts off steady and then ends up being a race against time. The story flows well and keeps the reader engaged. Looking forward to reading more in the series.
