Following on from Dark & Fluffy, this is the second volume of nine short fiction pieces. Enjoy!
Don’t worry if like me you haven’t read volume one by this author. The book is a compilation of short stories meaning the books can be read in any order.
This was a very short book with even shorter stories. Was a bit sceptical at first I have to admit as to whether I was going to enjoy it or not but there is a nice mixture of stories of different genres so you are really spoilt for choice.
Like with any book made up with lots of stories, there are always going to be some you enjoy more than others. My personal favourites were Death By Testing and The Disney Club. Both very different genres but both were really enjoyable.
It’s hard to say much about the stories themselves as with the book being less than 70 pages, you can imagine how short the stories are and to go into them in any great detail would certainly spoil it for any new readers.
Dark & Fluffy: Volume 2 is ideal for readers who enjoy short stories or for people who are limited for time. I think it’s a great showcase of the authors writing skills and think readers will be pleasantly surprised by this book.
My thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
Dark & Fluffy is available to purchase from Amazon. (Please note that link used is an affiliate link).
I am married with one teenage son and have always been a keen reader and writer since being young. I was born in Lancashire but have lived in Lincoln for over 30 years.
Several years ago I decided to take my writing seriously. I completed an OU course in creative writing and a Writers Bureau course. Initially I concentrated on short story writing, and when I turned fifty this year, I self-published my first book, Dark and Fluffy.
I love writing short stories, but my main goal is to have a novel published. Ten years ago, I started the first book of a trilogy of novels called The Little Servant (The Wait’s Son). I am still working on this, but now I have a serious intent to get this finished this year.
My favourite genre is medieval fiction, Bernard Cornwell is my favourite author. I also like to read Edward Rutherford, Stephen King, and Dean Coontz.
