Kat and Mouse are back in the latest instalment of the bestselling Kat and Mouse Murder Mystery Series!
When DI Tessa Marsden is called to a road traffic accident, she is disturbed by the crime scene she must investigate. She now has a double murder to contend with; two dead girls from the same village.
Realising the murders aren’t linked, Marsden summons the help of the Connection Investigation Agency, run by Kat, a church Deacon, Beth, (known affectionately as Mouse), a computer expert, and Doris, Beth’s feisty grandmother.
When it is discovered that one of the murdered girls was pregnant the case takes an unexpected turn.
Can DI Marsden, with the input of Kat and Mouse, solve the case before another body appears?
Meanwhile, the agency has been asked to track down the long lost son of Ewan Barker. Will Kat, Mouse and Doris find him and reunite him with his father?
This might just be their toughest investigation yet…

My Thoughts:
The third book in the Kat and Mouse crime series and another belter of a read!
I am absolutely loving this series. It’s a bit of a cross between a cosy mystery/crime thriller. The cosiness comes in the form of three wonderful characters, Kat, Mouse (Beth) and Doris. Although after reading this one, I am in awe of Doris as for someone approaching seventy, she shows she is not to be messed with!
It’s like catching up with old friends picking up a book in this series. I love the village feel that we get as Doris has moved into a new cottage that sounded very idyllic. Obviously being a crime book though, you need to have the odd murder to liven things up a bit.
The novel has two storylines running through it, one to do with the murders of two young females and the other for Kat and Mouse’s private investigating business trying to find a client’s son. Both were as intriguing as the other with some shocking outcomes that I really hadn’t expected.
Murder Unearthed was a novel I devoured in one sitting. The author grabbed my attention from the very first page and kept me there to the last. It’s a series you really get invested in as the reader can’t help but take to these three different but strong personalities. A highly enjoyable story that kept me guessing until the the end.
Murder Unearthed is available to purchase from Amazon.
Wow Sarah – this sounds like a series I’d like to read. And the cover of this one is stunning! Thanks for your great review, as always.
