My Thoughts:

The story starts off with four friends having a meal in Angela’s local pub. I enjoyed this normal conversation of four women getting together every so often. As they leave the pub though, Angela decides to turn down the offer of lifts and take the short cut through the woods to her home. Well I’m surprised my neighbours didn’t hear me shouting at Angela for being so stupid. It’s like a horror film when the victim enters a room where you know a horrible fate awaits them. Thing is though, we’ve all done it. Taken a risk to save time. Sadly for Angela, in this instance, it’s the wrong decision.

We then follow Hero and his partner Julie taking on the investigation as well as alternating between family stuff going on in Hero’s live. Whilst he has a loving home life, there always seems to be something going on making him feel torn between the love for his family and the love for his job.

The murders are pretty brutal which adds to the thrill of the chase in catching the killer. The author tackles a couple of sensitive subjects of which I can’t go into as they would be big spoilers but she handles them well and sensitively.

Regrets Mean Nothing was another fast paced read in the gripping DI Hero Nelson series. The author never fails to capture my attention, making me not want to go anywhere until I’ve turned the last page. A compulsive, dark and nail biting read and perfect for crime lovers.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Regrets Mean Nothing is available to purchase from Amazon.
