If you love stories similar to Big Little Lies, then you are definitely going to love this one!
The story centres around the residents of Seven Oaks. An upper class area which sounded quite idyllic. On the outside, these are all people who are the pillar of the community. What goes on behind closed doors though, will have people thinking differently.
It has a real who-dunn-it vibe going on throughout the story. With a number of suspects, it made for some fun guessing as to who could be behind Erica’s death. I was forever swapping and changing my mind with every new revelation that came.
My thoughts and feelings also changed towards numerous characters as we get to know them better. I loved the whole idea of the podcasts being broadcast and you can feel the tension mount up, the closer the episodes get to revealing who the killer was. I was determined to have guessed correctly before it was revealed but failed miserably.
Someone Is Lying is a wonderfully taught and gripping read, filled with secrets and lies. I was in my element discovering what each character was hiding. This would definitely be perfect for the big screen. The author kept me on my toes and I loved how she played with my mind, right up until the very last page. Highly recommended.
