My Thoughts:
I love this author’s crime series’ so was very excited to see she had written a standalone, a psychological thriller at that! Which just happens to be my all time favourite genre.
Lucy is someone who is trying to outrun her past. We get brief glimpses of what her life was like and why she is keeping it to herself but not any actual details. Of course this was sending my mind into over drive at just what she had done.
When bad things start to happen to the people that Lucy cares about, well the whole pace and tension really shot up a few notches. Talk about edge of your seat reading. I couldn’t settle as I was feeling just as much fear as the main character. I liked Lucy’s character and how she stands up for herself against the distasteful glares of Matthew’s family.
I Know The Truth has you second guessing everyone and everything. Even after finishing the book I still felt on edge. The fears and emotions leapt from the pages and washed over me as the author took me on a roller coaster ride that had me clinging on for dear life. I so hope the author writes more standalone’s in this genre as she has done a brilliant job.
