“Trust No One is a must-read that will keep you turning the pages late into the night.” – The Daily Express
THE BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF DEEP DARK SECRETS AND DYING TO TELL IS BACK WITH ONE OF 2020’S MOST UNMISSABLE NEW THRILLERS.
A long, long time ago, you did a bad, bad thing. And now it’s time to pay.
When Olivia Blake receives a note, she thinks someone is playing a prank on her, until she is lured to an empty house where she witnesses a man burning to death. Then she realises that the threat is serious. The problem is, Olivia doesn’t know what it is she is supposed to have done.
As she tries to find out who is tormenting her, someone watches her from the shadows. Someone who knows the truth about a tragic accident that happened years ago. And that someone won’t stop until every one of the sinners has paid.
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. When it comes to punishing the wicked, there will be no mercy…
My Thoughts:
They say your past will always come back to haunt you. In Olivia’s case though, she is adamant she hasn’t done anything wrong to warrant what is happening in the present. It’s obvious that something must have happened but what exactly and does she have something to hide? Well the author ensured I had a very entertaining time finding out.
There are some quite horrific scenes in the story although thankfully the author doesn’t go into any great detail. The thought of watching someone burn to death, I felt traumatised just reading about it and could only imagine what it must be like to see it in person. In one way I was trying to imagine the intensity of heat from the fire but I was chilled to the bone from the horror of it all.
As the story goes on, the pacing and suspense is almost electrifying. I was pounding a way at my Kindle, turning the pages frantically to see if Olivia was going to make it out alive and to who was behind the threats. As the body count kept rising, I was getting closer and closer to the edge of my seat as I couldn’t sit still in anticipation how it was all going to end.
Trust No One starts off with a very chilling beginning and by heck did the epilogue send shivers down my spine. I loved the authors story telling which had me addicted throughout. It’s a story that whilst not reading, I was thinking about and wondering what was going to happen next. As the title suggested, I trusted no one and was second guessing everyone’s intentions. An addictive, page turner of a read.
Trust No One sounds like one for me, just balanced it on top of my reading pile…
