Book Description:
SHE’S SEEN THE KILLER’S FACE. BUT HE’S ALSO SEEN HERS…
Just before dawn in the hills near the Scottish border, thirteen passengers on a hot-air balloon flight witness a brutal murder. Within the next hour, all but one of them will be dead.
Alone, scared and trusting no-one, she flees for her life, running to the one place she feels safe.
But the killer won’t rest until he’s eliminated the last witness to his crime . . .
My Thoughts:
I am so glad I have read this book after having been on a hot air balloon as I don’t think I would ever go on one after having read this book!
This has such a compelling start to it with the passengers on board a hot air balloon witnessing a murder on the ground. You would think that being so far up in the air that they would be safe but you would be wrong! To a certain extent I had to suspend belief with certain parts of this story. The main protagonist who is the only survivor from the crash goes on the run which the reasoning is explained further on down the line but even then I still felt I had to stretch my belief in some areas as certain things niggled me more than they should, other than that this really is an intense and engrossing read.
The author kept me guessing throughout as to the why’s of why the killer had murdered someone and why they were hell bent after finding the one remaining witness before the police. I would never have guessed the whole reasoning but as things start to come to light, it really makes this story even darker.
Dead Woman Walking really is a chill fest of a read. It was so addictive and I struggled to tear myself away from my Kindle as the need to know with this story really is intense and on that score the author does not let her reader down. The twists towards the backend of the book are complete shockers as I hadn’t even had an inkling of them coming so they blew me away when they happened. A couple I had to go back and reread just to make sure I had read them right. A highly entertaining story that will have you on the edge of your seat!
I’m so glad you enjoyed this one Sarah. I read and reviewed it back in September 2017 and it was a solid 5-star read for me. https://fictionophile.com/2017/09/25/dead-woman-walking-by-sharon-bolton-book-review/
