6 Ripley Avenue by Noelle Holten @nholten40 @RandomTTours @0neMoreChapter_

Book Description:

ONE HOUSE
EIGHT KILLERS
NO WITNESSES

Jeanette is the manager of a probation hostel that houses high risk offenders released on license.

At 3am one morning, she receives a call telling her a resident has been murdered.

Her whole team, along with the eight convicted murderers, are now all suspects in a crime no one saw committed…

Don’t miss the first nerve-shredding standalone thriller from Noelle Holten, author of the Maggie Jamieson series.

My Thoughts:

I love this author’s Maggie Jamieson thriller series so was beyond excited when I heard news of a standalone thriller by the author. It surpassed all my expectations!

The story mainly flicks between Sloane and Jeanette. Sloane is a news reporter who is after a big story of which she has had her eye on the hostel at Ripley Avenue for a while due to residents being unhappy having high risk offenders living so close by. When a murder happens there it seems that Sloane and the residents were right in thinking it would only be a matter of time until something bad happens. Jeanette is in charge of the hostel and I have to say I didn’t envy her, her job with all the back lash she gets from the residents.

Sloane is a great character. I know that this is a standalone novel but there is so much more potential when it comes to her. She will risk anything to grab herself a decent story, even putting her own life in danger. I am sure I won’t be the only reader who would love to see more of her as I have a feeling things will never be dull when she is around!

It was great to get an insight into what life is like for offenders and what the system has in place for them. The author’s own background in probation comes through in the novel giving it a very much authentic and gritty feel. There are lots of red herrings that had me looking at everyone but the actually killer so when it come to light as to who it is, well it sure made my jaw drop!

6 Ripley Avenue is a truly gripping thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. With so many potential killers, it was great fun trying to work out who the killer was even though I failed miserably as I didn’t get it right. The pacing and tension were spot on and I didn’t want to put the book down until the killer was revealed. Even then the author throws some surprise twists in of which one nearly knocked me sideways! A grippingly great read!
