Wowzers, there is lots going on in this crime thriller to keep the reader on their toes!

Allie Shenton is back and sadly things are not improving on the crime front in Stoke-on-Trent. A double murder is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this case for Allie and her team. If anything it seems to be the opening of a can of worms as it seems to escalate more incidents so much so that Allie and her team don’t get to rest for even a second!

The author gives us an insight into organised crime from basically the lackeys at the bottom and their roles, going all the way to the top of the ladder and I have to say every bit of it was scary. It’s a world that I would never want to be part of but you can see how easy it is for some to fall into it. There is no trust and everyone seems to be constantly looking over their shoulder. Of course the fact that most are too scared to talk doesn’t help Allie in getting to the bottom of what is going on.

Twisted Lives is a dark and gritty read that is wonderfully paced with lots of tension throughout. The title couldn’t be anymore perfect for the storyline and there were lots of twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat and sent my heart racing. I love the author’s writing style as she delivers a hard-hitting crime thriller yet gives it a heart through the protagonist. Another brilliant read!
