From the Top Ten ebook bestselling author, Caroline England’s newest thriller will have you hooked from the first page to the last jaw-dropping twist.

My Thoughts:

The story alternates between three characters. Dee, her sister Mari and Cal. Dee is married to the local vicar and is unhappy with her home life. A chance meeting has her strike up a dalliance of sorts with Cal. As the reader, we know there can’t be any good that comes from this. The deceit and lies, someone is bound to get hurt but just who is the question.

Along with relationship issues for both Dee and Mari, events from their childhood have left Dee especially, slightly scarred. I felt sorry for Dee. She is forever in demand by the church goers andhaving to perform duties for the church as well as her husband. She has very little time to be herself or as a family for them all to spend much quality time together. I could feel her frustrations. She has a good relationship with her sister though and I liked their strong bond.

As the story goes along, things start to unravel which has a knock on affect. You can feel the build up of tension whilst wondering what secrets some of them are hiding. I have to say that I was not prepared for some which came as a complete shock. Whilst the story centres mainly around Dee, Mari and Cal play crucial parts and the threads surrounding them make for just as much of an engrossing read.

The Sinner is a thought provoking read that could lead you to easily judge some of the characters. My opinions on certain ones changed throughout the more that is revealed to us. It certainly kept me on my toes and I wasn’t prepared for the outcome of the story that was way more twisted than I had envisioned. This is a well thought out and tightly plotted novel that did not disappoint!
